The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program at VTSU Castleton serves approximately 230 undergraduates. SSS provides participants with academic counseling, tutoring, peer mentoring, financial literacy programs, summer programs, and other services to help them earn a postsecondary degree. Our participants come from low-income backgrounds, including many families in which neither parent has a college degree.

Student Support Services (TRIO) at CCV serves 225 students, helping eligible students reach their academic potential and meet their educational and career goals. SSS at CCV provides students with services such as: priority advising with an advisor who will serve as an academic mentor and transfer counselor, academic support and life coaching, participation in Annual Leadership Day and other leadership development opportunities, access to TRIO grants ($688 to $1000), private tutoring, financial literacy instruction, workshops, college visits, transfer and career information, eligibility for CCV TRIO Study Abroad Scholarships (two $500 scholarships awarded annually)

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) at VTSU Johnson serves 235 students and we believe each participant is unique.  Summer Bridge provides five days to settle in, to learn, and to connect prior to college orientation.  During the academic year, we offer one-on-one tutoring, scholarships, and professional mentoring to support resilience and on-time graduation.  SSS is a community of fun-loving learners and educational providers who believe in reducing college debt and serving first-generation and low-income students.

The TRIO/SSS program at VTSU Randolph aims to help first generation, low-income students, or students with a disability, succeed in college. The TRIO/SSS Program offers:

  • Study skills assistance

  • Career counseling and occupational information

  • Transfer counseling and resume assistance

  • Individual tutoring for most courses

  • Counseling for both personal and academic issues

  • Peer mentoring from successful Vermont Tech students for first-year TRIO students

  • Learning style assessment

  • Regular meetings with professional staff
