The 2025 VEOP Scholarship is Open!
VEOP scholarships are awarded annually to VEOP member program students participating in Upward Bound, Student Support Services, Talent Search, GEAR UP, and Educational Opportunity Center who wish to use the scholarship for their undergraduate education.
The deadline for students in Upward Bound and SSS programs to get their completed applications to their directors is March 7th by the end of business. All applications should be sent to Kailah Easton at Kailah.easton@veop.org by end of business on March 14th. The committee will review and awardees will be notified no later than April 18th.
Individuals from VEOP member programs can nominate students for a VEOP scholarship. In 2024, five scholarships were awarded totaling $5,000. To apply, students must write an essay answering the question: “How has your participation in a TRIO/GEAR UP program positively impacted your educational journey? In your response, please share any challenge(s), either personal, academic, financial, or otherwise, that your program helped you to navigate and/or overcome.”
Applicants can apply for scholarships for the following categories:
Educational Opportunity Center participants
GEAR UP participants
Student Support Services participants
Talent Search participants
Upward Bound participants
Students or past participants from any member program who will be pursuing graduate study in 2025-2026
Participants in a VEOP member McNair Scholars program, and alumni from VEOP member programs, attending or seeking to attend graduate school are also eligible to apply for a scholarship.
In 2024, VEOP awarded scholarships of $1,000 for each of the categories listed above, with the exception of the graduate study scholarship. Students who are interested in applying for a 2025 VEOP Scholarship should submit completed applications by March, 2025. Awards will be announced in April.
